Karnataka Forest Department takes up
seasonal works such as nursery raising, plantation works,
construction of buildings, Timber harvesting, Fire protection
walls, Research Activities etc. It is mandatory as per the
Karnataka Transparency Act that, all works costing around
Rs. 1.00 lakh will have to be tendered out. |

Forestry works are being implemented in the different districts
of the State by the District Level Officers and the Taluk
Level Officers. Works as mentioned above are tendered out
for public information and any interested person could register
in the Office of the Deputy Conservator of Forests or Range
Forest Officer authorised on his behalf. Every Application
Form should be accompanied by a Challan of Rs. 10/- being
the Application Fee which is non-refundable. |

The sale of timber in Government Timber Depots of the State
is also notified periodically for the benefit of the general
public. The timber is usually made available for public usage
in two forms: |

• by public auction
• by retail sale. |
